Meet the Owner Melanie

 

Melanie A. Reid, a native of Somerset ( Franklin Twp), New Jersey, has always had a passion for hair & beauty since the age of 6.  She started her career as a teenager by doing family & friend’s hair at home on special occasions.

 

Melanie obtained her cosmetology license from Robert Fiancé Beauty School in North Plainfield, New Jersey and later she started working as a salon assistant in a Paul Mitchell focused salon. There, she learned a lot about salon etiquette , skill and Salon culture.

 

Melanie has modeled and styled fashion shows in New York City and was also featured in 2 magazines. In 2018,she landed her dream job as a hairstylist at a local, popular black-owned salon where shows able to bloom into the stylist she is today.

 

In 2023, to celebrate her 10th year in the industry, Melanie decided to make her vision of opening a salon a reality. It is a safe, intentional, and creative space where she and her clients can be their authentic selves.
